  1. This is an interesting article because it comes up against typical environmental thought on the management of a forest, which is to say leave it untouched. A conservation easement has been granted in order to save the forest from development. Replanting is required, however, little information is provided to indicate just how ecological this management scheme is. The questions that arise to me are the following: How will the forest be cut in the future? Is forest "farming" as ecological as pure forest preservation? Are there limits set in as to how much of the forest can be cut at any given time in order to prevent dangerous clearcutting? Is it possible to save the whole ecological value of a forest and cut it at the same time? Why is "farming" of a forest not considered "development?"
